Former Bryan Station High School dean to be sentenced on amended charge

Investigators said he followed someone to their home as part of a road rage incident and pointed a gun at them in February 2025.

Court documents say Bordas took “full responsibility” for his actions, stating he used poor judgement.

According to court documents, Bordas believed the person approached him “aggressively” with a large garden tool, and Bordas showed the person he had a weapon.

Bordas also completed a 12-week anger management program, which consisted of 12, 90-minute long group sessions.

His therapist reported that he was highly engaged in the curriculum and demonstrated personal growth, court documents show.

Bordas was indicted on the original charge in July 2025, and has been on administrative leave from his position as dean.

Court documents from Bordas’ plea hearing say the recommended sentence is 90 days, but that it would be determined during Friday’s hearing if he would be sentenced to imprisonment, conditional discharge or probation.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky did not oppose to sentencing Bordas to conditional discharge, according to court documents filed by Bordas’ attorney.

Under Kentucky law, this means Bordas would not be placed under supervised probation, and instead released with specific conditions set by the court.

Bordas’ sentencing hearing is scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m.
