KSP investigating death of inmate from Western Kentucky detention center

(WKYT) – The Kentucky State Police is continuing its investigation into the death of an inmate from a Western Kentucky detention center.

According to the KSP, Kendrick Owen was lodged at the Marshall County Detention Center on Thursday, Aug. 13, on public intoxication charges when he became unresponsive.

Jail officials requested medical assistance, and Owen was transported to a local medical facility before being transferred to a hospital in Louisville, where he died on Saturday, Aug. 15.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the results of an autopsy and toxicology report are pending.
