The Monticello Volunteer Fire Department was called out early this morning to a report of a fire on West Evelyn Avenue. The call came in just after midnight, no other details were released.

Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron reports the following arrest. Shelley Atkinson of Monticello, KY. was arrested for public intoxication-controlled substance. Atkinson was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
