NEW RECORD for opening weekend harvest!
The spring turkey season started with a bang, with a total harvest of 13,673 (exceeding the previous high of 12,211 from 2010, which currently stands as our record year for entire-season harvest).
More stats from the weekend:
• Total harvest was up 31% from 2025 (10,404 despite flood impacts) and up 29% from the 5-year-average (2021-2025) of 10,630.
• Harvest in every wildlife region = up at least 27% from the 5-year-average.
• Harvest on public lands (738) = up 30% from 2025 (566) and up 38% from the 5-year-average (537).
• Harvest on private lands (12,935) = up 32% from 2025 (9,838) and up 28% from the 5-year-average (10,094).
