(WKYT) – A man involved in the fatal Herrington Lake boat crash over the Fourth of July weekend has been arrested.
Cody Casey is charged with second-degree manslaughter for an incident that happened on July 4, according to the Boyle County Detention Center, where he was held on a $1 million bond.
Casey is being transferred to the Woodford County Detention Center, according to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.
Casey is also charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, failure to render aid, first-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence, leaving the scene of an accident, third-degree fleeing or evading police, failure to report an accident in excess of $500 and fourth-degree assault (minor injury.)

The detention center also lists Kentucky Fish and Wildlife as the arresting agency.
According to Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, a preliminary investigation found that over the Fourth of July weekend, two boats collided on Herrington Lake, resulting in the death of 25-year-old Nazar Svintozelskiy.

The owner of the other boat was identified as Casey, and the families of Antonina Svintozelskaya and Andrew and Lina Fomin filed a lawsuit against him on Monday, Aug. 17.

The lawsuit alleges that Casey approached a pontoon in his boat, accelerated and hit the pontoon head-on.
