Anita Lynn Higgins, age 55, of Columbia, Kentucky, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
Anita was born on November 14, 1970 to the late Timothy J. Frye and Anita Jones Frye in Somerset, Kentucky.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time in nature, horses, and fishing. She was a very loving mother.
She was preceded in death by her father, Timothy J. Frye. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Anita Frye, her son, Bradford T.J. Higgins and daughter Shelby Lynn Higgins all of Monticello, Ky; fiancé Shannon Petrey of Columbia, Ky; stepdaughter Jessica Lynn Petrey (Bruce Jared Glover) of Jamestown; aunt Rita Owens (Gene), uncle Tony Jones (Elsie) all of Monticello; son-in-law, Timothy “David” Hawkins of Jamestown; grandchildren: Clay Petrey, Mia Hawkins, Timothy Hawkins, Levi Hawkins, Jasper Gaines, Scarlett Silva, Maci Hawkins, Kelly Hawkins and Brandon Hawkins; along with a host of friends and family.
Graveside visitation will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 11am at Spann Hill Cemetery with a graveside service to begin at 12pm with Bro. Sebastian Kroger officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Anita Lynn Higgins.
