Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones and the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office are proud to announce that Deputies Brandon Parks and Ethan Hargis graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice Training on Thursday, August 27, 2026, in Richmond, Kentucky.
Deputy Parks served in the United States Navy for seven years as a Petty Officer Second Class and also served as a squad leader for his class of recruits.
The Department of Criminal Justice Training hosted the graduation ceremony at First Baptist Church in Richmond. Deputies Parks and Hargis received their diplomas and became certified peace officers with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.
Mike Bosse, Commissioner of the Department of Criminal Justice Training, addressed the graduating class and the family members, friends, and fellow officers in attendance. During his remarks, Commissioner Bosse encouraged graduates to maintain a positive, professional attitude throughout their careers, apply their training in service to their communities, and uphold their public-service responsibilities.

Basic Training Class #572 completed more than 800 hours of instruction. Training areas included patrol procedures, criminal law, traffic and DUI enforcement, physical training, vehicle operations, firearms, criminal investigations, defensive tactics, tactical response to crisis situations, cultural awareness, and bias-related crimes.
Deputy Hargis was hired on December 7, 2025, and Deputy Parks was hired on December 21, 2025. Sheriff Jones swore them in during private ceremonies at the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office in the presence of family, friends, and Sheriff’s Office staff.
Both deputies are now assigned to the Field Training Program, where they will patrol Pulaski County with veteran field training officers. The program allows new officers to continue developing their skills by responding to calls for service, investigating crimes, and completing reports while working alongside experienced training officers.
“We are extremely proud of Deputies Parks and Hargis for their hard work and dedication throughout this training,” Sheriff Jones said. “Completing basic training is an important milestone in their law enforcement careers, and we look forward to seeing them continue to serve the citizens of Pulaski County with professionalism, integrity, and commitment.”
