Business Owners: Be Alert to Phone Scams
Fraudsters aren’t just sending emails anymore; they’re calling. And they sound convincing.
You might hear things like:

“There’s suspicious activity on your account.”

“Your online banking has been compromised.”

“We need you to verify a security code.”

Don’t fall for it. Scammers create urgency to trick you into giving up login credentials or security codes. Once they have them, your business account can be drained in minutes.

Protect your business:
• Never share one-time passcodes or MFA tokens
• Hang up on unexpected calls
• Contact your local MBC branch using a trusted number
• Train your employees to spot and verify suspicious requests

Remember: Even the best security tools won’t help if a scammer convinces someone to hand over access.

When in doubt: Stop. Verify. Call your financial institution directly.
