(WKYT) – Kentucky State Police say they are investigating a crash that left one man dead Sunday morning.
Troopers say it happened at 1:51 a.m. on KY-15 in Jackson.
According to police, John Southwood of Lost Creek was traveling northbound when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a Perry County ambulance.
Southwood was pronounced dead at the scene by the Breathitt County Coroner’s Office. Troopers say the two occupants of the ambulance were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Investigators say Southwood was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and toxicology results are pending.
The investigation and collision reconstruction are ongoing.
