On April 20, 2026, just before 3:30 p.m., Kentucky State Police Post 11 initiated a pursuit on U.S. 27 in McCreary County after a vehicle failed to yield to emergency lights and sirens.
The driver, identified as Ryan Anderson, fled at speeds exceeding 85 mph, crossed lane lines multiple times, and threw suspected narcotics from the vehicle during the pursuit. The pursuit continued onto Hwy 1651 and Old Bailey Road, where Anderson eventually fled on foot before being apprehended following a brief foot pursuit.
Anderson was taken into custody without further incident and evaluated by EMS on scene.
A search of the area resulted in the recovery of approximately 150 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 14 grams of suspected fentanyl, and 10 grams of suspected crack cocaine.
Anderson was charged with multiple offenses, including Fleeing or Evading Police (1st Degree), Trafficking in Controlled Substances, DUI, Active Warrants, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
The investigation is ongoing.
