. (WKYT) – A horse has been euthanized after a fall during a race in Keeneland on Wednesday.
Three-year-old High Go was euthanized after an incident in the eighth race of the day, according to a Keeneland Safety Report.
An Equibase race chart said that High Go fell after bumping into another horse. The horse was taken off the track in an equine ambulance.
High Go sustained a shoulder fracture and doctors decided humane euthanasia was the best option.
The horse’s jockey, Tyler Gaffalione walked off and was evaluated by UK HealthCare medical staff and cleared.
This is the first horse death in the 2026 Spring Meet.
