Fires reported this morning and Saturday Afternoon

At 4:15 PM Saturday Monticello Fire Department was dispatched by Monticello Wayne County 911 to a report of a woods fire by the Twyford’s Point boat ramp. Fire personnel arrived and encountered approximately 1 acre burning along the edge of the lakebed. Firefighters worked to contain the fire by building a fire break around the fire and limiting the movement of the active line. Kentucky Division of Forestry was requested at the scene and responded to the fire. Once the fire was contained it was turned over to Forestry for management.
