According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron an investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics here in Wayne County has resulted in a Monticello man being arrested for trafficking in methamphetamine.
The investigation started back in August 2024, by Deputy Derek Dennis after the Sheriff’s Office received complaints about the man selling methamphetamine. The investigation continued then after receiving a complaint that the Monticello man would be transporting methamphetamine on a small motor bike, Deputy Dennis observed the man traveling on Fair Street in the city limits of Monticello. Deputy Dennis conducted a traffic stop and explained to the man the reason for the stop was due to a drug investigation. A search resulted in a crystal substance suspected to be methamphetamine being located in his pants pocket.
Later the crystal substance tested positive as being methamphetamine using the Sheriff’s Office Tru-Narc Narcotic Analysis Equipment with a total weight of 6.93 grams.
Deputy Dennis obtained a Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for Randall Hall II of South 2nd Street Monticello, Ky. for trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine).
On October 17, 2024, at approximately 10:45 pm, Deputy Nick Bertram located Hall on Stokes Street and placed Hall under arrest on the District Court Complaint Warrant. Hall was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
The Wayne County Sheriff Office is continuing this and several other narcotic sales investigations.
