MPD CALLS FOR SERVICE 10-09-24
We share MPD’s activity report to help you have a better understanding of the number and types of calls our officers respond to daily. This serves as a quick overview of the previous date’s calls for service. It does not include every detail related to each incident or traffic stop.
4:40 a.m. – Business security checks, extra patrol overnight: Cardinal Realty, Wayne/Freedom Association of Southern Baptist and Cornerstone Insurance. All appeared secure, no issues discovered.
5:14 a.m. – Officer flagged over on West Columbia Avenue. Argument between male & female. Parties separated.
7:46 a.m. – Report of female in dark colored SUV driving off without paying for fuel at Valero on North Main Street. Female made contact with store owner.
10:10 a.m. – Report of domestic dispute with assault at residence on Alexander Street. Caller reports male left walking. Officers made contact with female. She denied being assaulted, declined assistance.
10:55 a.m. – Request to speak with officer regarding traffic collision report.
11:20 a.m. – Report of male slumped over steering wheel of red Chevrolet truck in area of trees on south side of Cumberland Crossing parking lot. Male was okay. Taking a nap in the shade.
1:24 p.m. – MPD & MFD responded to truck on fire at stop light #4.
2:28 p.m. – Request to speak with officer regarding possible violation of Emergency Protective Order.
3:25 p.m. – Wellbeing check requested for male at Dabney Court apartments. Caregiver advises phone is ringing inside apartment but no answer, no one coming to door. Was determined male wasn’t home.
4:43 p.m. – Foot patrol Walmart.
5:03 p.m. – Request for officers on Albertson Street. Caller reports girlfriend “smashed windshield of his truck with baseball bat while he was in truck”. Caller states “girlfriend was mad because he did not clean house”. Officers responded. Process to file criminal complaint explained.
5:16 p.m. – Mother of female involved in incident on Albertson Street request to speak with officers.
5:45 p.m. – Request to meet with officer at MPD to obtain EPO (stemming from earlier incident).
7:43 p.m. – Two-vehicle, non-injury collision Walmart parking lot.
8:25 p.m. – Report of domestic dispute at residence on West Columbia Avenue. Verbal argument. Advice given to both. Parties separated for the night.
8:32 p.m. – Request for officer on Hillard Avenue. Caller reports neighbors in ongoing verbal argument in roadway, about to become physical altercation. Involved parties had separated and went inside prior to officer’s arrival.
11:17 p.m. – Loud music complaint on Third Street. Source of music located, was turned down.
