Gambling Arrests Made Wednesday

At approximately 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (October 2nd) more than 20 city, county, state and federal law enforcement officers executed search warrants simultaneously at four businesses in the City of Monticello and Wayne County resulting in the arrests of two men and the seizure of over 40 illegal electronic gaming machines.
The searches were conducted at Lucky 7 Smoke & Vape in the Walmart Plaza, Bootlegger Wine & Spirits (also known as Crown Wine and Spirits) on West Columbia Avenue, the Valero station on North Main Street (beside Family Dollar) and what is known as Hick’s Grocery on KY 90 East in the Frazier community.
Jaimin Patel, 25, and Obula Reddy, 25, were arrested and lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. Both men are charged with numerous offenses including Promoting Gambling 1st Degree, Possession of Gambling Devices, Permitting Gambling and Possession of Gambling Records.
Agencies involved in the multi-faceted investigation include the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Monticello Police Department, Alcohol Beverage Control departments on the city, county and state level, the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
