According to new data released by the Kentucky Center for Statistics, Wayne County saw an increase in unemployment last month.
The local unemployment rate was 6.6 percent last month.
Unemployment rates in other neighboring counties, such as Pulaski County, at 5.7 percent, Russell at 6.0, Clinton at 6.3 percent, and McCreary County, had the highest in the district at 7.3 percent.
119 of Kentucky’s 120 counties saw an increase in unemployment from a year ago.
