(WKYT) – A GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up for the family of a Lexington man who officials say likely drowned in Lake Cumberland.
42-year-old Andy Schmidt likely drowned swimming near the Lake Cumberland Marina in Russell County, according to officials. His body was recovered following a search effort Sunday, Aug. 23.

According to the GoFundMe, Schmidt was a father of three.
“The news has been a horrific shock for everyone who knew and loved Andy,” the fundraiser says. “Any amount of support is appreciated during this difficult time.”
