Nick Houck slated to appear in court Thursday on perjury charges

(WAVE/WKYT) – New court documents are providing details on the case prosecutors are building against former Bardstown Police Officer Nick Houck ahead of his pretrial hearing this Thursday.

Nick Houck faces perjury charges in connection with the investigation into the disappearance of Crystal Rogers. Kentucky State Police allege Houck lied under oath between 2015 and 2023, a timeframe that aligns with the Rogers investigation. Nick Houck’s brother, Brooks Houck, is currently serving a life sentence for Rogers’ presumed murder.

According to a newly released pretrial report, prosecutors intend to introduce several pieces of evidence against Nick Houck, including:

  • Grand jury testimony provided by Nick Houck in July 2015 and in 2023
  • Results and records of a polygraph test
  • Police interview recordings
  • Clips from his brother Brooks’ murder trial

A newly filed witness list also names Rosemary Houck, who is the mother of Nick and Brooks, as well as Nick’s girlfriend from 2015 and multiple law enforcement officers.

The pretrial hearing is scheduled to take place this Thursday.
