13 Year Old Located Safe Following Search

A juvenile reported missing early Tuesday morning in northern Wayne County has been found safe and is now back home in the custody of his parents, according to local authorities. Officials expressed gratitude to everyone who called, messaged, or assisted throughout the day as the search unfolded.

The Wayne County Rescue Squad were dispatched to the Meadow Creek area after the youth was reported missing around 6:30 a.m. from Methodist Church Road. The report stated he had last been seen wearing black jeans, a green T‑shirt, a gray sweatshirt, and black tennis shoes.

The rescue squad, community members, and law enforcement spent much of the day canvassing the area, following up on tips, and coordinating with the 911 center as concern grew for the juvenile’s safety.

After 8pm yesterday, authorities confirmed that the juvenile had been located and safely returned home to the custody of his parents. No further details were released, but officials emphasized their appreciation for the community’s quick responses and willingness to help
