Serious crash in Corbin prompts response from two medical helicopters

 (WKYT) – Emergency personnel responded to a serious crash in Corbin on Thursday evening, according to the Corbin Fire Department.

The crash happened on Kentucky Highway 26 near the bypass and involved a car and an SUV.

Photos released by the fire department show heavy damage to both vehicles.

The Oakgrove Fire Department established a landing zone for two medical helicopters in the area.

The responding agencies did not release any information on how many people were injured in the crash or what condition they are in.

Whitley County EMS, the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office, the Corbin Police Department and the Kentucky State Police assisted the fire department at the scene.

WKYT has reached out to the fire department for more information but has yet to hear back.
