Fundraiser started for family of Lincoln County teen killed in weekend collision

(WKYT) – A fundraiser has been started for a Lincoln County family grieving the loss of a teenager.

Over $1,000 has been raised for the family of 16-year-old Brynn Bentley, of a stated $5,000 goal.

“The Bentley family is walking through the devastating loss of their sweet Brynn and facing days filled with grief, exhaustion, and heartbreak,” fundraiser organizers wrote. “During this incredibly difficult time, donations can help ease the burden of everyday responsibilities and allow the family space to rest, mourn, and simply be together.”

Bentley was killed last Friday night after a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 127 when she attempted to make a left turn and hit a pickup truck traveling south down the highway.

Lincoln County emergency personnel attempted to revive Bentley after extricating her from her vehicle, but she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
