(WKYT) – The Corbin Center is hosting a unique dinner experience to benefit Autism Awareness.
The Corbin Center is to host “Dinner in the Dark” May 5 from 6-8 p.m. Proceeds from the event are to go to Autism Awareness initiatives.
Guests at the dinner will be served a ‘fully immersive meal’ while blindfolded so that they have to rely on their other senses during the experience. Hosts of the event say, “More than just dinner, the experience offers participants a powerful glimpse into what it is like to navigate the world without sight—encouraging a deeper understanding of individuals living with visual impairments.”
The dinner will include insights from Cameron and Susan Mills. The Mills are parents to a child with autism intending to share their story. Cameron was a former champion in Kentucky Wildcat’s men’s basketball, speaking of his experiences to inspire perseverance in the spirit of the event. Susan is an author who wrote “My Autism Tribe”.
