KSP Warn of Multiple Scams that Increase this time of Year

It appears to be that time of year again for scams such as phony emails, phony text, and phone calls all trying to get money out of you for unpaid fees, late payments or saying they have a warrant for your arrest if payment is not made. Please be cautious when opening emails and giving any personal information out.
Below is an example of a fake text!!!

Cabinet – Driver Compliance Notice: A review of the traffic database shows outstanding infractions associated with your vehicle.
Settlement deadline: March 22, 2026. Enforcement action scheduled for March 23, 2026.
View case details and submit payment through the official portal:
If unpaid by the deadline, the following will occur under KRS 186.020 & Admin Regulation
12C-16.003:
• First, administrative suspension of vehicle registration.
• Second, temporary restriction of driving privileges (up to 4 business days).
• Third, daily accrual of late fees and administrative holds.
Non-compliance may result in legal and credit consequences.
