Fire Reported Monday at Monticello Elementary

At approximately 3:33pm on Monday afternoon the Monticello Fire Department was called to a fire at Monticello Elementary School. School employees acted quickly and were able to get the fire under control as units arrived. Fire units deployed fans to clear out the smoke and fire extinguisher agent that was in the classroom. Units remained on scene for over an hour checking the buildings and clearing out the smoke. Minor damage was confined to one classroom.
