Sheriff Bobby Jones reports numerous individuals are in custody following a long term drug investigation.
The incident began when Detectives from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division were conducting surveillance on the residence of a suspected drug dealer, Jonathan G. Lewis, age 36, of Bronston. Detectives had been conducting an investigation into Lewis and had conducted controlled purchases of methamphetamine from Lewis. Throughout the investigation, Detectives discovered active arrest warrants for Lewis. Detectives also learned, during their investigation, Lewis had a source of supply from Louisville. Detectives contacted the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, to assist on the takedown.
Detectives observed the suspect, Lewis meeting in the driveway of his residence with a another subject in a white Chevrolet truck. Detectives conducting surveillance on the residence, observed a motorcycle leaving the property, along with the White Chevrolet pickup truck. Detectives contacted the additional Deputies to pull into the residence, before the subject could leave.
As Deputies were pulling into the property, they encountered Lewis on the motorcycle. Lewis attempted to elude Deputies by going in between the police cars and a boat parked on the property. Lewis lost control of the motorcycle and laid the bike over. Deputies converged on Lewis. When Lewis wrecked the motorcycle, a bag containing methamphetamine fell and landed on the ground.
Deputies also stopped the white Chevrolet. The driver of the Chevrolet, Charvonta Arkee Wright, age 34, of Louisville, consented to a search of the vehicle. Upon searching Wright and the vehicle, Deputies located $1886.00 in cash. A passenger in Wright’s vehicle was checked and released.
During the search of the residence, Deputies located numerous items of paraphernalia to include digitals scales, baggies, syringes, a handgun, and a glass smoking pipe. Deputies asked Lewis to search vehicles in the driveway of the residence, including a white Dodge pickup truck Lewis had been observed operating earlier in the day. A firearm was visible in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Lewis refused to allow Deputies to search the vehicle.
Detectives applied for a search warrant to search the residence and all of the vehicles in the driveway. Upon searching the vehicle, Deputies located the handgun in the seat and shot glasses containing methamphetamine residue.
During the investigation, Detectives were able to establish that Wright was Lewis’ drug supplier and had delivered the methamphetamine to him.
Lewis and Wright were arrested and charged.
On April 4, 2025, Detective Tan Hudson was reviewing jail video visits made by Lewis. In the videos, Lewis asks his sister, Courtnee Robbins, age 33, of Somerset and father, Rodney Wheet, age 59 of Somerset, to go to his residence, and told them the location of methamphetamine he had previously hidden. Wheet agreed to sell the methamphetamine for him.
Detective Hudson, Deputy Dylan West, Deputy Grant Bryant, and Lieutenant Richard Smith went to Jones Knob Road to located Robbins and Wheet. Wheet took Deputies to an outbuilding where he turned over approximately 471.2 grams of methamphetamine and a Remington .22 rifle.
In February of 2026, the case was presented to a Federal Grand Jury, by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, in London, KY, where indictments were issued for the following:
Jonathan G. Lewis – Conspiracy to Distribute mixture or substance containing detectable amount of methamphetamine.
Charvonta Arkee Wright – Conspiracy to Distribute mixture or substance containing detectable amount of methamphetamine.
Courtnee Lewis Robbins – Conspiracy to Distribute mixture or substance containing detectable amount of methamphetamine.
Rodney Wheet – Conspiracy to Distribute mixture or substance containing detectable amount of methamphetamine.
