(WKYT) – The Kentucky man who claimed a $167M lottery prize has pleaded guilty to charges in Florida.
James Farthing won a $167 million Powerball jackpot after buying a winning ticket in Georgetown last April. Shortly after, he was arrested and accused of assaulting a police officer in Florida.
He was charged with battery and resisting an officer.
A plea deal was entered on Farthing’s behalf in Pinellas County Court on Monday. His plea deal says he won’t serve any additional jail time but will have to pay $1,000 in fines.

In February, Farthing was arrested in Scott County and charged with intimidating a participant in the legal process. He is due in court for that charge in April.
