(WAVE/WKYT) – A soldier from Glendale is the latest casualty of the war in Iran.
The Pentagon says Sergeant Benjamin Pennington was hurt on March 1 by an attack on US soldiers at an air base in Saudi Arabia. He died a week later.
New video shows Pennington’s dignified transfer at Dover Air Force base. Vice President JD Vance was there to honor the fallen service member.
The US Army says Pennington will be posthumously promoted to staff sergeant.
Flags will fly at half-staff on the day of Pennington’s memorial in Colorado. Those details have not yet been announced.
