The University of Kentucky does receive money for televised games, but not on a per-game basis.
How the SEC distributes TV revenue
The Southeastern Conference distributes money to member universities as part of an annual revenue sharing agreement. For the 2024-25 fiscal year, the SEC dispersed $1.03 billion to its 16 member universities.
Schools with full-year financial participation received an average of $72.4 million.
The SEC said that money was generated from television agreements, postseason bowl games, the College Football Playoff, the SEC Football Championship Game, the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament and NCAA Championships.
UK’s multimedia rights deal
The university also earns money through an agreement with JMI Sports for certain multimedia rights. That includes pre- and postgame radio shows, game sponsorships and game promotions.
