According to Wayne County sheriff Tim Catron a Wayne County female has been arrested after assaulting her grandfather.
On August 6, 2025, at approximately 5:43 pm Wayne County Sheriff Office Deputies were dispatch to a residence located on American Legion Road for an assault in progress by the Wayne County 911 Dispatch Center. Upon their arrival the Deputies were met by the grandfather which was actively bleeding from his injuries. The grandfather stated that his granddaughter started arguing with him because he would not allow her to use his car and then assaulted him. The Wayne County Emergency Medical Service was dispatched to the scene and transported the victim to the Wayne County Hospital for treatment. Deputies made contact with the granddaughter which lives separately from the grandfather on the same property. She asked the Deputies to step inside her residence. Deputy James Barnett immediately placed her under arrest for domestic violence. It was obvious to the Deputies that she was under the influence of a controlled substance and observed an illegal drug and drug paraphernalia items laying in plain view.
Deputy Barnett charged and arrested Alisha Branham of Monticello, KY. assault-4th degree (domestic violence) minor injuries, public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol), possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Branham was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
