According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Manchester, Ky. man has been arrested on multiple felony and other charges after a vehicle pursuit.
On July 1, 2025, at approximately 2:33 pm Deputy Jammes Barnett attempt to stop a Toyota pickup truck on West Columbia Avenue for a traffic violation. The pickup truck failed to stop after Deputy Barnett activated his emergency lights/ siren and proceeded down Columbia Avenue onto West Kentucky Highway 92. The pickup truck continued passing oncoming and other vehicles at a high rate of speed with almost striking one vehicle. After the pickup turned onto West Kentucky Highway 3284 a male passenger from the pickup truck jumped out and started walking across an open field. The pickup truck continued on then pulled into a residential yard and stopped before a wooden area in the back yard. The male driver then jumped out and fled on foot into the wooden area. Deputy Barnett pursued the male on foot. After a short chase Deputy Barnett caught up to the male and had to use physical force to take him into custody. Once in custody the male driver admitted that he had stolen the pickup from his girlfriend, and she had no knowledge he had taken it.
Deputy Barnett charged and arrested Kevin S. Adams of Manchester, KY. for obstructed vision/ and/or windshield, feeling or evading police-1st degree (motor vehicle), fleeing or evading police-2nd degree(on foot), wanton endangerment-1st degree (on Police Officer),wanton endangerment-1st degree, resisting arrest, theft by unlawful taking or disposition- auto (1,000.00 but less than $10,000.00), possession of a controlled substance-3rd degree-drug unspecified and speeding 26 mph greater than speed limit.
Adams was also arrested on a Boyle County Circuit Court Indictment Warrant of Arrest for trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine-enhanced), trafficking in a controlled subatnce-1st offense (heroin-enhanced) possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and receiving stolen property ($1,000.00 but less than $10,000.00).
Adams was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
The passenger was detained by Deputy Valis Smedley but was released from custody after questioning.
The investigation is continuing by Deputy Barnett.
