Class Title: Alcoholic Beverage Control Administrator / Code Enforcement Officer
Pay Range: Starting at $35,000/annually (Based on experience)
Under limited supervision, enforce the requirements for licensing and regulation, manufacturing, and sale of alcohol in the City of Monticello. Under limited supervision, enforce the Code Enforcement ordinance within the City of Monticello.
Examples of Duties:
Review monthly sales reports from businesses and ensure appropriate alcohol tax has been paid in a timely matter.
Audit sales records and reports from businesses with alcohol licenses.
Issue alcohol licenses and renew alcohol licenses annually after ensuring compliance with state and local laws.
Review properties within the city limits for compliance with the Code Enforcement Ordinance.
Issue notice of violations to property owners not in compliance with the ordinance.
Attend Code Enforcement and City Council meetings.
Prepare and present reports for City Council and Code Enforcement Board meetings.
Maintain meticulous records for both Alcohol Beverage Control and Code Enforcement.
Desirable Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited high school or its equivalent (GED),
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of clerical methods used in keeping fiscal accounts and records. Ability to type. Ability to make quick, accurate mathematical calculations and handle money efficiently. Ability to exercise sound judgment, courtesy, and tact in dealings with the public. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and the public.
