(WYMT) – Drivers looking to renew their driver’s licenses in 2025 may want to schedule an eye exam along with their DMV appointment.
“The information that’s required to renew the driver’s license is already completed in your annual eye examination for patients who haven’t had their eyes checked in a while all you do is just schedule an appointment with an eye care provider,” Davidson-Moore optometrist Jordan Davidson said.
A provider must complete the driver vision certification testing form within 12 months of renewing your driver’s license.
“So for example, if you had your eye exam in October but you need to renew your driver’s license in February then the form would still be submittable to the transportation cabinet,” Davidson said.
Dr. Davidson said if you notice changes in your vision, you do not have to wait for your renewal.
“This is just another way to one, check up on their overall eye health but two just keep them safer on the roads,” Davidson said.
