According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Monticello man has been arrested for cultivating marijuana.
On October 16, 2024, at approximately 4pm Sheriff Catron along with Deputies Joe Horne, Nick Bertram and Derek Dennis were attempting to locate wanted subjects in different areas in the city limits of Monticello. These subjects had a history of running from Deputies. While approaching a residence on South First Street Deputy Dennis approached the residence from the rear. As he was doing so Deputy Dennis noticed a male subject running while holding 2 mature marijuana plants in the backyard of a nearby residence and was attempting to take them inside his residence. The male followed Deputy Dennis’ orders to stop and was then detained.
Several other marijuana plants were noticed growing close by in large growing pots. While conducting a continued search an indoor marijuana grow was also located with other mature plants.
Deputy Joe Horne charged and arrested Danny L. Tomlin of Monticello for cultivation in marijuana (5 or more plants). Tomlin was also found to have and was arrested on an outstanding Arrest Warrant from Warren County District Court for failure to appear on the underlying charges of traffic violations.
The Wayne County Sheriff Office also made the following arrests.
Jacob Dishman of Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Kentucky Parole Board Mandatory Reentry Supervision Violation Warrant of Arrest for absconding parole supervision, failure to attend Halfway House program and failure to report to Parole Officer as directed. Dishman was also arrested on 2 Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrants of Arrest for fleeing or evading Police-2nd degree and fleeing or evading Police-3rd degree.
Madison Mason of Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for Defendant Left Rehab, Violated Bond Conditions on the underlying charges of possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Tomlin, Dishman and Mason were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
