MPD CALLS FOR SERVICE 08-07-24
We share MPD’s activity report to help you have a better understanding of the number and types of calls our officers respond to daily. This serves as a quick overview of the previous date’s calls for service. It does not include every detail related to each incident or traffic stop.
2:17 a.m. – Checking vehicle with two occupants in parking lot off West Columbia Avenue. Both checked okay.
2:33 a.m. – Report of suspicious male on KY 90 in front of WCEMS/WCDC. Male checked okay, walking home KY 1275 North.
6:35 a.m. – Business security checks, extra patrol overnight: Twin Lakes Veterinary, Holston Gas and Franklin Motors. All secure, no issues discovered.
7:55 a.m. – Theft complaint Wilhite Street. Firearm, tools and laptop computer stolen from vehicles.
9:09 a.m. – Adult male taken into custody on mental health warrant from Clinton County. Turned over to Clinton County Sheriff.
9:46 a.m. – Request to speak with officer on Crawford Street. Caller reporting neighbor “screams” from front porch often. Officer responded, talked with both.
1:08 p.m. – Request for officer on Maple Street. Elderly female needing assistance with door security device.
1:58 p.m. – Traffic stop on Michigan Avenue. Verbal warning for moving violation.
2:25 p.m. – Some of the items stolen from vehicles overnight were located/recovered. Ongoing investigation.
4:34 p.m. – Request for officer at Cumberland Crossing. Caller reports young male dressed gray sweatshirt and sweatpants sitting near Dollar Tree. Officer responded, male no longer there.
6:24 p.m. – Request for officer at Walmart. Loss Prevention Officer reporting two young males have been walking around inside/outside store for several hours. Descriptions provided. Both fled on foot upon seeing officer’s cruiser arriving. Both located and taken into custody by MPD and WCSO. Determined that both had ran off from a juvenile facility in Pulaski County earlier this date. Turned over to authorities from that facility.
7:54 p.m. – Request to speak with officer regarding discharging of firearms in city limits.
8:12 p.m. – Reckless driving complaint on orange/red truck, last seen turning onto West Columbia Avenue. Negative contact.
8:21 p.m. – Foot patrol Walmart.
9:08 p.m. – Assist Child Protective Services with taking emergency custody of two children.
10:25 p.m. – Alarm activated at Dollar General Store on Damron Drive. Building/premises appeared secure. No contact with keyholder.
11:01 p.m. – Motorist assist North Main Street near Walgreen’s.
