This brings the closing of this case. Normally the Wayne County Sheriff Office does not release bodycam footage of incidents publicly but, due to the amount of misinformation and rumors since this incident occurred is now releasing the first few moments of the Deputies bodycam footage. The first moments will show exactly what took place, causing the Deputies to react using justified deadly force. The Wayne County Sheriff Office bodycams cannot be altered by the Sheriff Office or anyone else and are maintained and stored offsite by the Axon Corporation.
