Russell Springs Water Project Reaches 75 Percent Completion

Russell Springs’ ongoing water system improvement project is approximately 75 percent complete and remains on schedule for a mid-December finish.

During the latest city council meeting, Allen McQueary of Russell Springs Utilities updated city leaders on the project’s progress. He reported that crews have less than 1,000 feet of water line left to install near Hometown Tire on Jamestown Street. Work has also been expanded to include the neighborhood located behind Jax’s convenience store.

Officials say the extensive infrastructure upgrade, which involves replacing aging cast iron, asbestos, and concrete water lines, is expected to be completed by Dec. 14.

The project is being funded through a grant exceeding $2 million and is designed to improve the reliability and efficiency of the city’s water system.
