The local “B” Battery 623rd will be activated for deployment in just a few days, approximately 75 members will be gone perhaps up to a year. The community is coming together to show their support for the brave men and women with a special ceremony beginning at noon on Saturday, December 9th at the Rodney Woods Gymnasium all the Community is welcome.
The Battery is scheduled to leave Monticello this Sunday, December 10th at 8:00 AM, the public is encouraged to line the sidewalks and wave to the departing soldiers. The unit will be leaving the local Armory at 8 am where they will travel down main street to the Doughboy and on to Columbia Avenue to the local Airport.
