Anglers from across the region are expected to converge on Lake Cumberland this weekend as the Bradley Roy Open returns to Wayne County.
The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10, on Lake Cumberland in Monticello and is currently open for registration through WeighBook. Organizers say competitors will have the opportunity to fish one of Kentucky’s premier bass fisheries while competing in an event associated with professional angler Bradley Roy, a Kentucky native and Major League Fishing pro.
The event is also tied to youth bass fishing activities in Kentucky, with the Kentucky B.A.S.S. Nation Youth Trail listing Lake Cumberland’s Bradley Roy Open as part of its tournament schedule. Launch and weigh-in activities are scheduled through Conley Bottom Marina and Resort.
Lake Cumberland has long been a destination for competitive fishing, and events such as the Bradley Roy Open help attract anglers and visitors to Wayne County, providing an economic boost for local businesses, restaurants, lodging operators and marinas.
Tournament results will be available through WeighBook following Saturday’s competition.
