(Heartland News/WKYT) – The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) is investigating an incident involving an in-custody man.
According to the KSP Justice & Public Safety Cabinet, KSP Post 1 requested that the CIRT investigate an interaction at the Marshall County Detention Center.
The news release states that the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kendrick Owens of Marshall County on Thursday morning, August 13. He was charged with Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct, Assault 3rd Degree and Resisting Arrest.
Authorities say Owens became unresponsive at the detention center following his arrest. Deputies then requested medical assistance.
Owens was transported to an area hospital, then later to a Louisville, Ky. hospital. He was reported to be in critical condition.
No other injuries were reported.
This is an ongoing investigation.
