(KFVS/WKYT) – The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team has been requested to investigate an officer-involved shooting on Friday, March 27.
According to KSP, three officers from the Department of Corrections, Probation and Parole, arrived at 2821 Marquees Drive around 11:50 a.m. for a home visit of an individual under supervision.
Officers encountered a 22-year-old Rayshawn Tucker, who was not associated with the home visit.
Officials say Tucker stabbed one of the probation and parole officers with a knife, prompting the officer and fellow officers to fire their agency-issued weapons.
They struck Tucker, and he was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
Two of the probation and parole officers were taken to area hospitals, where they were treated and released.
No other officers were injured during the incident.
Post 1 Mayfield requested the KSP Critical Response Team to investigate the shooting.
