City Council Recap

The Monticello City Council met in regular session Monday at City Hall.

It was announced that Monticello Police Chief, Joey Hoover has tendered his resignation effective March 17th.  Chief Hoover cited health reasons as the contributing factor for his decision, he has served in the position since March of 2021.

In addition to an executive session the council heard various departmental reports.

The ABC report showed $414,517 in sale for December, and a total of $ 4,025,862 of alcohol sales for the year of 2025.  $194,089 in fees were collected.

$57,127 dollars was collected through the restaurant tax during December for the local tourism committee.

The utility commission reported just over $655,000 in revenue while expenditures for the past month totaled $684,000.
