Last week, with his family by his side, Thomas Simmons filed to run for 40th District Judge, Division 2, which covers Clinton, Russell, and Wayne Counties.
Earlier this year, I shared plans to step away from the County Attorney’s Office. After the current District Judge, Mike Lawson, shared his plans to retire, I spent a great deal of time reflecting, praying, and talking with my family about what the next chapter might look like. Through that process, I felt called to continue serving our community in this new way.
I’m grateful for the support of my family and thankful for the opportunity to take this next step. I look forward to getting out across the district, visiting with voters, listening, and earning your support as this journey begins.
