Man Accused of Murder Makes First Court Appearance

60-year-old Norman McGuire appeared in court Monday in front of Judge Scarlett Latham.  McGuire entered a not guilty plea to murder and was appointed a public defender. A preliminary hearing was held in which a Kentucky State Police Detective gave testimony, and enough evidence was presented to send to the case to the Wayne County Grand Jury for possible indictment. Bond was set at $1 million cash only.

The arrest citation states that the victim,46-year-old Berry Rainer Rose III was last seen in a truck with McGuire.  That vehicle was spotted on Circle Drive and lead to the investigation with McGuire.
