We share MPD’s activity report to help you have a better understanding of the number and types of calls our officers respond to daily. This serves as a quick overview of the previous date’s calls for service. It does not include every detail related to each incident or traffic stop.
4:40 a.m. – Business security checks, extra patrol overnight: Monticello-Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, Quilt Shoppe, Wayne Theatre and Monticello Banking Company main office. All secure, no issues discovered.
7:55 a.m. – School Zone patrols.
8:46 a.m. – Wellbeing check requested on resident of Beech Valley Manor.
10:32 a.m. – Wellbeing check requested on resident on Wilson Street. Mailman and neighbors haven’t had contact with female that resides there for several days. Officer responded, checked residence. No one there. Family contacted. Discovered that female is hospitalized in Somerset.
1:26 p.m. – Foot patrol Walker Elementary and Bell Elementary.
2:50 p.m. – School Zone patrols.
5:27 p.m. – Report of two “suspicious males” on separate areas of Worsham Lane. Staff of personal care facility responded and transported them back to facility.
7:20 p.m. – Foot patrol Walmart.
8:10 p.m. – Two-vehicle, non-injury collision North Main Street. Information for report taken.
8:13 p.m. – Reckless driving complaint on silver Ford truck in downtown area. Negative contact.
10:32 p.m. – Complaint of intoxicated male leaving Barrier Street headed toward Hwy. 167. Attempted to locate, negative contact initially. Located later on during second complaint, arrest made.
