Sheriff Bobby Jones reports that on October 10, 2024, at approximately 8:31 PM, Deputies with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office observed a white 2007 Expedition traveling south on Murphy Avenue in Ferguson, Ky. that was driving in a reckless manner. The Expedition didn’t have a visible registration plate.
Patrol Sergeant Alex Wesley attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the Expedition by activating his emergency equipment, but the vehicle failed to stop for the Sergeant. The Expedition almost struck several vehicles including the patrol deputies, during his attempt to escape law enforcement. The Expedition failed to stop, continuing on South into Wayne County and eventually Clinton County, where it struck another vehicle.
The driver was removed from the vehicle, where he continued to resist arrest. The driver was arrested in Clinton County and identified as Coltan M Randolph, age18, of Somerset, Ky.
The driver of the vehicle Randolph collided with was extricated and transported by EMS for further medical treatment. This collision is under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
Randolph was treated at the scene by Clinton County EMS. Upon a search of Randolph’s vehicle, Deputies located methamphetamine. Randolph was transported back to Pulaski County and lodged at the Pulaski County Detention Center.
Randolph was arrested and charged with the following:
• Reckless Driving
• Improper Passing
• Disregarding Traffic Control Device
• Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree
• Operating Motor Vehicle Under Alcohol/Substance
• Resisting Arrest
• Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree
• Promoting Contraband 1st Degree
• Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree
The investigation is still on going by Sergeant Alex Wesley. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Kentucky State Police, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Monticello Police Department, Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, Clinton County EMS, and Albany/Clinton County Fire/Rescue.
