Scam Alert: Unexpected Money in Your Account? Don’t Send It Back! 
Have you received an unexpected payment through Zelle® and then been asked to “refund” it? Be careful. This could be a scam. Fraudsters often send money using stolen accounts and pressure recipients to return the funds. When the original transaction is later reversed, the victim is left responsible for the money they sent back.
If you receive money from someone you don’t know:• Do not send it back yourself
• Do not spend or move the funds
• Do not respond to the sender
• Contact your bank for guidance
Remember: Legitimate mistaken payments are handled through the sender’s bank or payment provider, not by the recipient. When in doubt, pause and contact us before taking action. A quick phone call could save you from a costly scam.
