VA awards $32.8 million in grants to help homeless veterans in Kentucky

(WKYT) – The United States Department of Veterans Affairs awarded more than $32.8 million in grants to organizations across Kentucky that help veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless on Monday.

The grants will be spread across 17 organizations through the VA’s Supportive Services for Veterans Families and the Grant and Per Diem Program.

Nationally, the VA has awarded more than $1.17 billion in grants to 680 organizations.

The department said the grants helped house more than 51,000 veterans last year.
