(WKYT) – Baptist Health is reminding people of the importance of an annual flu shot and of opportunities to get vaccinated.
In a news release, Lynn McArthur, the director of pharmacy at Baptist Health Corbin, said the flu can spread quickly once activity picks up, which is why people are encouraged to plan ahead and get vaccinated in September or October.
“Getting a flu shot each year helps reduce the risk of serious illness, and most insurance plans cover the cost of the flu vaccine so in many cases no co-pay is required,” McArthur said.
Baptist Health Corbin’s retail pharmacy provides flu and other vaccines without an appointment during normal business hours.
