(WKYT) – A man was arrested in Pulaski County on Monday after an investigation found that he had inappropriate online communications with what he thought were minors, according to the sheriff’s office.
Forty-year-old Raquel Gomez-Lopez is charged with unlawful procurement of a minor by electronic means and first-degree attempted unlawful transaction with a minor.
On Monday, a detective with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office met with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and members of KyPredoPursuit. This organization uses adult decoys to identify individuals trying to meet up with minors for sexual activity.
Investigators reviewed conversations between Gomez-Lopez, posing as Cirjio Gomes online, in which he spoke with what he believed were two 14-year-olds about allegedly engaging in sexual activity in exchange for buying them alcohol.
Gomez-Lopez made arrangements to travel to Somerset to meet up with one of them and, after doing so, was arrested.
He is being held at the Pulaski County Correctional Center on a $30,000 bond.
Gomez-Lopez was also placed under a federal detention order for allegedly being in the country illegally.
