McCreary County Man Arrested After Online Decoy Operation

Tuesday Backlash Pursuit a Kentucky-based volunteer decoy group that conduct online predator‑exposure operations made contact with a McCreary County man as part of an ongoing investigation involving two juvenile decoys. According to the organization, the suspect Edward Morgan is accused of making contact with the decoys through Facebook Messenger for roughly 16 hours, allegedly making inappropriate comments and arranging a meeting.

Backlash Pursuit confronted Morgan at the agreed location in the Strunk community around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The McCreary County Sheriff’s Office responded and took Morgan into custody. He is currently lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

Backlash Pursuit emphasized that its role is to assist law enforcement in identifying potential threats to minors, and noted that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The organization thanked the McCreary County Sheriff’s Office and Sgt. Chaney for their assistance.
